HEAC Learning Network

HEAC Learning Network

Executive Overview

The HEAC Learning Network (HLN) is a structured, on-demand learning environment designed to support Council on Occupational Education (COE)–accredited and COE-candidate institutions in understanding and applying accreditation policy with disciplined, practical judgment.

Grounded in decades of accreditation leadership experience, the HEAC Learning Network exists to strengthen institutional effectiveness by helping schools engage COE policy as a functional framework that supports quality, integrity, and educational value for students, faculty, staff, and the communities institutions serve.

Introduction

This brief introduction provides context for why the HEAC Learning Network was developed and how it is intended to be used. Viewing the video is optional; the page is designed to be complete and actionable without it.

Who the HEAC Learning Network Is For

The HEAC Learning Network is designed for COE-accredited and COE-candidate institutions whose leaders, faculty, and staff share responsibility for institutional quality and accreditation accountability.

Because COE accreditation is institution-wide, HLN supports individuals across roles, including senior leadership, accreditation and compliance staff, faculty, program leadership, and operational teams who contribute to accreditation-related processes, documentation, and decision-making.

The Learning Network assumes participants are capable professionals working within the COE framework who benefit from shared understanding, consistent expectations, and a structured approach to applying policy across the institution.

Accessing and Leveraging the HEAC Network

The HEAC Learning Network provides on-demand, topic-focused learning that institutions engage with based on their roles, responsibilities, and timing within the accreditation cycle.

Content is organized to support:

  • Understanding COE policies and expectations
  • Applying policy consistently across institutional functions
  • Strengthening internal alignment and accountability
  • Improving documentation, planning, and review processes

HLN is not designed as basic training, nor does it replace institutional judgment or advisory engagement. Instead, it serves as a structured resource institutions can return to as accreditation work evolves.

At launch, the HEAC Learning Network provides single-user access for individual learners, with group access (two or more learners) available upon request.

The HEAC Learning Network complements, but does not replace, Higher Education Accreditation Consulting’s advisory services.

Institutions may engage with HLN independently or alongside advisory support. In all cases, responsibility for decision-making and implementation remains with the institution.

The HEAC Learning Network is accessed through a dedicated online learning platform.

  • Account creation is required
  • Participants should register using a work or institutional email address
  • Upon registration, users begin at a Start Here orientation page that provides guidance on navigating the platform and accessing introductory content
