PRINCIPAL
COACHING
INITIATIVE
Empowering school site administrators with customized knowledge, skills, strategies, and experience to achieve self-efficacy and lead successful schools.
Principals Coaching Initiative has been developed to empower school site administrators with customized knowledge, skills, strategies, and experience to achieve self-efficacy and lead successful schools where students, teachers, parents, and the community can celebrate a culture of excellence. The customized coaching will address the direct needs of the participant, will deepen their knowledge and skills, and will provide them with strategies and techniques to ultimately become successful school administrators.
STEP ONE | Introductory Meeting with Client
HEAC will conduct an introductory meeting with the client which can be the schools’ superintendent or designee to present the program’s philosophy and objective, specifically how it can contribute to the success of school-site administrators and student achievement. Both parties will discuss the logistics and the expectations in order to considering entering into an agreement.
STEP TWO | Introductory Meeting with Principal
Once the superintendent or his/her designee identifies and refers the administrators who will participate in the program, the HEAC coach will hold a virtual introductory meeting with the participant to give an overview of the program and learn about the participant’s experience, background, interest, and aspiration. The participant will receive a self-assessment packet that they will complete and return to the coach.
STEP THREE | Development of Action Plan
The HEAC Coach will utilize the self-assessment from the administrator and consider the uniqueness of the school (history, performance, website, and overall socio-economic context) in its evaluation process. The coach will schedule a site visit to tour the facility, observe all stakeholders, and collect more information in order to create a comprehensive draft action plan. A follow-up meeting will be scheduled with the principal to discuss the draft plan, analyze the components, and consider all input and feedback to finalize a comprehensive action plan.
STEP FOUR | Plan Implementation
The HEAC coach and the principal will collaborate on a regular basis through webinars, site visits, ongoing communication (phone calls, emails, texts) to ensure adequate support, mentoring, and growth. A first progress meeting will take place within three months to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and make necessary adjustments and decisions.
